Canadian International Immunization Initiative - Phase 3 (CIII-3)

The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) has been contracted by the Government of Canada to implement the technical assistance component of the Canadian International Immunization Initiative (CIII), which is now in its third phase. Through this Initiative, CPHA identifies and recruits Canadian technical consultants to assist the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to establish and maintain successful national childhood immunization systems in developing countries . Through technical cooperation and skill and service training, CIII-3 aims to strengthen the integrated disease surveillance systems, routine immunization services and safe practices focusing on polio eradication, health information systems, communications and social mobilizations capacities; to increase competent health workforce and to build country capacity in micro-planning, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation.
